How do I broadcast on the Citizen app?

To help raise awareness and keep others safe on developing situations, you can report incidents on Citizen by starting a live video. We do not allow users to upload videos from their phones or computers at this time.

Tap the “Alert Community” button on your home screen to start recording and narrating. You can go live for incidents like traffic collisions, heavy police activity, fires, severe weather, lost pets, and other community updates.

All user-submitted videos are reviewed by a moderator in real-time to ensure they meet our guidelines and Terms of Service. 

Please remember to keep a safe distance and always remain aware of your surroundings. Citizen does not condone users putting themselves in harm’s way in order to record videos. User safety is our first priority.
